Board of Directors Meeting Minutes 

April 8, 2008 

Present: Pat Teal, Bonnie Bolster, Julie Duke, Kay Harper, Marion Huxtable, Lynn Gressley

Correction of March 11 minutes

The Bremerton Housing Authority proposes to assume all authority over and management of the Section 8 housing in Jefferson County.

The March 11 minutes were approved with the above correction.

Public Access

Several reliable sources report that the USPS Western Region has taken sole responsibility for planning for the Port Townsend Post Office. We have no information as to the City’s contacts with the Region.

Access Committee
From May through July we will be completely re-evaluating the accessibility of the Jefferson Health Care facilities and services. In addition, we will assist the Madrona Mind Body Institute in determining how to make the Fort Warden Gym more accessible

Treasury/Fundraising 

Lynn reported that the UGN Application for 2008-2009 will be submitted by the end of April.

Treasurer’s Report
Julie reported that the current fund balance is $2,441.77. The Board approved a resolution to authorize Bonnie Bolster (Director) to act as a signer of any financial instruments of the Corporation.

Special Event

The planning for the 6th annual Disability For A Day Event is complete and 9 participants will join us this year at the Courthouse on April 16. The day will begin with an emergency drill to demonstrate how a person who is not ambulatory could be evacuated from the upper story of a building. The participants will evaluate emergency points of refuge while experiencing being blinded or confined to a wheelchair.

New Business

Marion Huxtable has requested to join the DASH Board of Directors. at the May meeting the Board will consider her application.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:36 pm.
