Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 6, 2010
Uptown Community Center Card Room
Present: Sue Ammeter, Marion Huxtable, Kaheya Cunningham, Julie Duke, Pat Teal, Bonnie Bolster, Lynn Gressley and Anne Robertson (guest)
Acceptance of Minutes
The minutes of the February meeting were approved.
Public Access
PAs publicity for this year’s Disability Awareness Month and our 8th Disability-For-A-Day Event the Board discussed this year’s display ad which will appear in The Leader later this month. The ad is a montage of ariel and ground images of access issues on the grounds of Jefferson Health Care.
Consensus was reached that the ad is intended to boldly point out pedestrian access problems which have long been a concern of DASH. The hope is that a constructive discussion can be held with Hospital decision makers.
An additional option for individuals who believe that they have been discriminated against in terms of physical access to Jefferson Health Care is to file a Section 504 complaint through the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services. Sue agreed that she would research this issue and provide information to anyone who wants it.
Treasury/Fundraising
Julie reported that the current fund balance is $2524.63.
Lynn reported that a total of $300 have been received in the last month which include money from UGN and Escrip.
The Board approved expenditure of $603 for Event related publicity costs.
Other Business
We will look at the feasibility of the Uptown Community Center Card Room for this year’s Event start and finish on April 21.

Pat reported that the Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board approved a proposal to include packed gravel along the sides of 14th Street in its Update recommendations.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:05 pm.
